Services
Box interior design’s professional service is intended to assist our Clients in creating spaces that reflect their personality or commercial identity.
Services that we provide to our Residential Clients include the reorganisation and refurbishment of existing internal spaces, enhancing and improving existing interiors and designing new extensions to provide extra living accommodation.
Commercial Clients may want to upgrade their existing interior environments, create a certain mood, atmosphere or branded interior or transform an existing space for a new venture.
Box interior design recognise that each project and Client is unique and the service required for each is therefore tailored to suit. Our standard project stages are detailed below, either a all or some of these stages can be provided as appropriate.
Initial Consultation and Project Brief
Our initial consultation is free. This ‘no commitment’ initial meeting is primarily designed to establish a working relationship between Client and Designer and a to create a Project Brief. A designer from Box interior design will meet the potential Client with no commitment. Ideally, this meeting takes place on site so that the designer is able to view and evaluate the existing space. During this meeting all of the Client’s requirements, visions, and of course budget are discussed. This is also an opportunity to anticipate any challenges or potential problems.
Survey of Existing Space
Once the Project Brief is accepted and Box interior design is appointed, the project can progress to the design stage.
If the project involves an existing space, a measured survey of the building would normally be prepared. We then produce plans, elevations and sections of the relevant spaces, which will form the basis of the design drawings.
Design Development and Final Design Scheme
The Design Development process involves the exploration of function, circulation, form, light and materials in response to the Project Brief. At this point Box interior design presents the Client with different scheme options. Presentation and working drawings as well as sample boards are prepared for discussion. Involving the Client in the design process ensures that the result is tailored specifically to the Client’s brief and the result is a creative and considered success.
We work closely with the client to integrate their preferred options into a final design. The exact content and time taken for this stage varies for each project, as development of the design continues until the client is happy to approve and sign off a Final Design Scheme.
Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent and Building Regulations Approval
Any approvals that might be required by the Local Authority would normally be sought at this stage. While Box interior design cannot guarantee that Planning Permission will be obtained, we pride ourselves in having a very good relationship with the local Planning Authorities and Building Control and have a history of successful Applications in our sister practice McCaren Design Architects.
Specification and Tender
Once a Final Design Scheme is agreed, Box interior design can source materials, furniture, fittings and finishes as well as tradesmen and contractors.
If required, specification documents together with detailed drawing packages can be prepared for tender submission to a range of contractors in order to obtain a competitive quotation.
Site Management
Box interior design offers a Site Management service to ensure that the quality and integrity of the design scheme is upheld during the construction. This usually involves weekly site visits and administration of the contract between Client and Contractor.
