Box interior design is dedicated to designing modern, stylish interiors, which make the most of space, light and views.   The company is led by Robin McCaren, Architect as Director and Fleur Powell, Interior Designer as Associate.  We operate alongside our sister company McCaren Design Architects who have over 15 years experience on projects ranging from private residential extensions to commercial housing developments, and community facilities.  With the benefit of our architectural experience we take a holistic approach, considering design challenges from all angles, and ensuring interior spaces and external architecture are integrated from the outset. 

Philosophy
The importance of our interior environment is often not regarded highly enough.  The use and function of available space, light and materials can not only enhance our daily lives but our health as well - after all we spend most of our lives inside. We believe that by maximising the available natural light and using natural and sustainable products where possible, we can create beautiful, functional, and Client specific interiors.

By nurturing a close working relationship with each Client, Box interior design develops a thorough understanding of the existing space and the Project Brief, working towards a design solution that is both creative, pragmatic and appropriate to the clients needs. We strongly believe that effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants is a vital factor in providing a quality service and successful interiors.

Box interior design provides a ‘hands-on’ service to guide the Client through the process from project conception, design development, planning approvals, project management and site construction. The company Director takes pride in having a personal input at all stages of the design process for every project.  We also work on a partial services basis such as a Planning services and Building Regulations approval. In all cases, the service provided is personalised to meet the individual needs of each Client.

Specialisms
We operate alongside our two sister companies – McCaren Design and Access and Design.  McCaren Design is an architectural practice with over 14 years of experience on projects ranging from private residential extensions to commercial housing developments, and community facilities.  Access and Design is a consultancy providing advice on building-related disabled access issues.  The resulting partnership of Interior Design, Architecture and Access expertise under the same roof is a unique combination which enables us to take a holistic view of an entire design to ensure that all potential users needs are met in full.
